Movement Builds Resilience!

I believe in the idea that things are meant to be. I have faith that we are never given more than we can handle. My divorce was the hardest thing I’ve ever gone through, but I know now that it pushed me toward growth I might not have found otherwise. Without it, I probably wouldn’t have gone back to school. I wouldn’t have built the same independence, kept pushing myself to learn, or found my way to Psychophysiology - the field that ties everything I believe about health, healing, and well-being together.
Last semester I took The Psychophysiology of Stress. When I first cracked open the 700+ page textbook, I felt completely overwhelmed. But as the class went on, I grew to love it. The science matched what I’ve been coaching for years - that the mind and body are deeply connected, and that connection can either hurt or help us. Psychophysiology gave me the language and research to back up what I’ve seen with my clients: movement, breath, and mindset aren’t just add-ons to health - they’re at the core of it.
This is why I believe so strongly in what we do at SoulShine. Every workout, every breath, every choice to show up for yourself isn’t just exercise - it’s nervous system training, resilience building, and whole-person healing.
The mind and body are always talking. The question is - are we listening?
Let’s keep tuning it, SoulShiners!
