We Don't Build Belonging on Beauty.

The other day, I was scrolling on social media and saw a post from someone else in the fitness industry that said, “all the hot moms are doing it.”
And I felt it immediately - that quiet nope in my body.
So I unfollowed her.
Not out of anger. Not to make a point. But because something in me said, this definitely isn’t the world I’m building.
That one sentence turned movement into a beauty contest. It suggested that belonging has a look. That women need to audition with their bodies to deserve community.
I spend my days working with people who are strong in ways no camera could capture - people navigating stress, menopause, sleepless nights, grief, healing, changing bodies, and new beginnings. People who show up not because they feel “hot,” but because they are brave enough to care for themselves.
To me, fitness is not about being thin, white, youthful, or sexually marketable.
It’s about regulated nervous systems. Strong joints. Aging with confidence. Helping people feel safe in their bodies. Building real resilience.
SoulShine is not defined by age, size, race, attractiveness, or performance. Strength is not a look. Healing is not a trend - it’s a process.
Every body is enough.
That’s the kind of fitness community I believe in. That’s SoulShine.
