Q: I cheated on my diet. How long will it take to show up on the scale?
The Short Answer:
Probably never and even if it does, it’s most likely temporary fluid retention caused by excess salt or sugar intake. In the extremely unlikely event that you binged so massively over the weekend that you actually gained body fat, there’s nothing you can do about it now, so quit thinking about it and beating yourself up. Rebel against the negative voice and get on with the business of reversing the damage. Move your body, drink a ton of water, get good and solid sleep, eat like you know how to do, and SMILE!!!! Did you know that smiling for 20 seconds will stimulate the brain activity associated with positive emotions?
Here's your homework: smile now for 20 seconds....go ahead....smile. Now throw in a little giggle.....add some smiling eyes......10 more seconds........5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Nice! Do you feel better? Happier and more joyful? I'll bet you do. Focus on the good things and throw the shitty things to the side. Be happy today and help others feel that same happiness too.
