I just read a quote that really spoke to me...."Don't try to improve the essence of who you are. Who you are is good enough and whole and beautiful. Now is the time to accept that, and when you accept that, your life definitely improves."
I've been on a mission for quite a few years now to be happy. It's not always easy. I lose focus at times and then lose some of my joy. But I really do love my life so much and having a happy resting state is super big time way better than being a grump. Lately, I say to my boys and my husband (on days that we're all together) that I plan on having a fun day and being happy for the whole time. That sets the intention and they are aware that I'm choosing to be happy. It works, no joke.
Increase your happiness by asking yourself a couple of questions - what inspires you and what do you love? Some ways to increase your happiness are being a true friend to the important people in your life, having a strong sense of purpose, loving your work, practicing gratitude, BEING PRESENT (ugh, I struggle on this one!!), forgiving - which lets you release resentment, being kind to yourself, and letting yourself have fun!!! Figuring out what inspires you, supports you, and gives you strength will absolutely increase your joy. I promise.
